The proposal for the New Neanderthal Art Center in Piloña is based on the idea of a new type of museum: the deposit - museum.
Due to the discoveries of neanderthal remains in ‘El Sidron’ cave, the museum will recreate the cave and its remains.
The singular appearence of the museum is based on the lithic stones used as tools in the neanderthal age. It also reflects the shape of the close karstic montains.
The program is organized to reinforce the idea of descending into the cave, where we find a reproduction of the deposit, and later ascending with the knowledge, where the evolution of the mankind is explained.
